Four years into its strategic plan, the Measles & Rubella Partnership's Midterm Review reveals that while progress has been made, countries and global institutions must take urgent, collective action to reach elimination targets by 2030.

At the end of 2024, 83 countries had eliminated measles and 99 had eliminated rubella. Vaccination campaigns reached more than 530 million children from 2021 to 2024. Despite this progress, outbreaks are increasing, funding for key initiatives has been cut, and vaccine hesitancy and misinformation are on the rise.

The recently released Measles & Rubella Strategic Framework 2021-2030 Midterm Review urges global, regional, and country leaders to prioritize measles and rubella programs, strengthen collaborative efforts, leverage integrated strategies, and invest in prevention and outbreak preparedness that is people-focused, country-owned, partnership-based, and data-enabled.
