DESCRIPTION:An introduction on new vaccines, new financing initiatives and related policy issues will be provided. Basic epidemiological, ethical and regulatory issues related to the assessment of vaccine efficacy and effectiveness in different world regions will be compared, while appraising issues of public confidence in vaccination programmes. The course also provides an overview of economic aspects of vaccination programmes and ways in which health professionals may be assisted in designing, planning, and implementing immunization programmes (with a strong focus on developing countries).
