SUMMARY:3rd International Workshop on Monitoring and Evaluation of Global Health Programs
DESCRIPTION:The seven-day workshop on Monitoring and Evaluation of Global Health Programs will provide the platform for state of the art tools and techniques. By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:\n- develop monitoring and evaluation plans by applying knowledge and skills gained throughout the workshop\n- train professionals working in various health programs on basic concepts and practical approaches towards effective programmatic monitoring and evaluation\n- formulate a framework (result/logical/conceptual) on how the program or intervention will lead to specific health outcomes and impact.\n- discuss programmatic applications of the main tools and data systems used to monitor and evaluate health programs\n- review the various evaluation designs and estimation techniques used for evaluating various health programs  \n- use this platform to share and learn from other country experiences to strengthen their M&E systems\n\nSome of the important topics of the workshop are: \n- Introduction to Monitoring and Evaluation\n- Developing Monitoring and Evaluation Plans\n- Frameworks and Indicators; Data/Information Sources & Systems (including surveillance, surveys, and HMIS)\n- Routine and Non-Routine Information Systems\n- Tools used in M&E including PRISM tools, DQA tool and ​DDIU tool\n- Evaluation Designs and Operations Research\n- Gender Integration into M&E\n- Data Demand and Use for Decision-Making\n- Decision-Making and Strategic Information\n- Population Size Estimation \n\nCourse fee: US$ 2800 which includes:\n- 7-day face-to-face workshop in Dubai\n- Resources, course material, and workshop kit\n- Lunch, tea, and snacks during the workshop sessions\n- Certificate from Empower\n- One-year of technical assistance \n- Does not include – airfare, accommodation, health insurance, visa fees, dinner or other travel expenses\n\nPlease also find the Newsletter for our previous workshop - http://goo.gl/SMw9vY
