SUMMARY:COVID-19 Vaccine Introduction: Challenges and Lessons Learned from Uganda, Zambia, Ghana and Zimbabwe
DESCRIPTION:The BID Learning Network (BLN) invites you to join a three-part webinar series about experiences and lessons learned on COVID-19 vaccine introduction from Africa. The first webinar in this series will feature lessons from Uganda, Zambia, Ghana, and Zimbabwe.\nThis webinar will be of interest to data management specialists, EPI managers, health management information system (HMIS) specialists, ICT specialists and other health care specialists committed to improving data collection, quality and use across health systems.\nAs the world grapples with the COVID-19 pandemic, many countries have begun vaccination campaigns and lessons have emerged on the challenges and ways to increase the success of the COVID-19 vaccine introduction.\nThe vaccine introduction process requires that countries undergo a trajectory of self-assessment in relation to readiness, planning, coordination, management, vaccine safety and surveillance as stipulated by WHO guidelines. While some African countries have commenced the vaccination, others are still in the infancy stage of the process and as they prepare for the introduction of the COVID-19 vaccination, many lessons are being learned along the way. \nThus BID Learning Network (BLN) has planned a series of webinars and virtual panel discussions on the lessons learned from the introduction and subsequent roll -out of the COVID-19 vaccine in Africa. These interactions are intended to promote mutual learning and lesson sharing among the public, private and international health care practitioners for equitable distribution of the COVID-19 vaccines in African countries. \nRegister here: https://path.zoom.us/meeting/register/tJ0vceuoqj8jGtP8DknsM3fcGUaQoPqLZ5Bu\nIf you have any questions, contact the BLN community coordinator, Catherine Muyawala, at cmuyawala@path.org.
