Through this webinar held in July 2016, experts from PATH and the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine presented findings from the first comprehensive review of HPV vaccine delivery experiences across 46 low- and middle-income countries between 2014–2016. These experiences allowed countries to learn valuable lessons about effective methods for garnering parental acceptance and reaching young adolescent girls with the vaccine at relatively low delivery costs. With the onset of the Ebola epidemic, infectious waste posed an even more serious health risks to people that come in contact with it, in particular healthcare staff who are critical in containing the epidemic.

The technique used up to now in these hospitals was to gather and destroy at the back of the hospital the infected waste by burning it.

UNDP is deploying in Conakry autoclaves, that use pressurized steam at 134-135°C alternating with vacuum cycles to achieve high levels of sterilization.

Waste volumes have been growing exponentially, not only due to the rapid spread of the EBV and an increasing number of patients requiring care, but also because large quantities of personal protection equipment and disposable items being used by healthcare workers taking care of the sick and infected.

MSF is vaccinating 68,000 children for measles in five camps in Bangui, Central African Republic (CAR) in order to prevent an outbreak. Hundreds of thousands of people are currently displaced in camps around Bangui as a result of violence since early December.

Children are now protected with 11 vaccines; up from six vaccines a decade ago. The price of vaccinating a child has sky-rocketed. It cost $1.37 to vaccinate a child 10 years ago, now it's $38.80. That's a whopping 2,700 percent increase. So how do we decide how many vaccines children need? Is it based on how much money you can make, or on how many children's lives can be saved?

Au Niger le premier passage des journées nationales de vaccination contre la poliomyélite se tiendront du 27 février au 2 mars 2009. Ces journées font partie d'une vaste campagne de vaccination simultanées dans 8 pays de la région d'Afirque de l'Ouest.
Dans le village de Kadamari, dans la région de Zinder, au Sud-Ouest du Niger, où de nombreux cas de refus de vaccination contre la poliomyélite ont été enregistrés en 2008, le Gouvernment, avec l'appui de l'UNICEF, organise la sensibilisation des familles et des autorités coutumières en s'appuyant sur les interventions de leaders traditionnels et religieux. Ces interventions permettent de renforcer l'adhésion des familles à la vaccination contre la poliomyétie. Ce sujet a été réalisé et diffusé sur la chaîne nigérienne Télé Sahel, en partenariat avec l'UNICEF, le 23 février 2009.
