Newly-prequalified cold chain equipment is regularly added to the PQS Catalogue. To keep up-to-date with changes to the PQS Catalogue, you can now follow the PQS updates feed on Twitter:

https://twitter.com/pqs_updates

In addition to listing newly-prequalified equipment, the feed also highlights new and updated target product profiles (TPP), as well as PQS news and issues.

The PQS Catalogue provides a detailed list of all immunization-related products currently prequalified by WHO. Individual datasheets for each product can be found in the following categories:

E001 Cold rooms and freezer rooms
E003 Refrigerators and freezers
E004 Cold boxes and vaccine carriers
E005 Coolant-packs
E006 Temperature monitoring devices
E007 Cold chain accessories
E008 Injection devices (for immunization)
E010 Waste management equipment
E013 Injection devices (therapeutic)

The entire PQS Catalogue is also available as a PDF document on the PQS Catalogue website:

http://apps.who.int/immunization_standards/vaccine_quality/pqs_catalogue/index.aspx

This document includes datasheets for every prequalified product, as well as guidance notes to help purchasers make informed choices.

The PQS Catalogue is regularly updated. To report defects affecting any product in the PQS Catalogue, please contact the PQS team ([email protected]).

Hi Dan, Thanks for this -- will follow the Twitter feed asap. It would be great if the PQS catalogue were also made available as: • Excel File (allow for quick reference, sorting, filtering searching by parameters etc) • As a MYSQL data table that LMIS/CCEI systems could tap into dynamically to ensure that these systems are using the latest information on PQS products Additionally, I often have to refer back to much older PQS catalogs to find information about refrigerators in use in countries that are no longer PQS, but were previously. While manufacturer specification sheets can often be found online, I prefer to use older PQS specification sheets, especially to get figures for net capacity (vaccines, water-packs etc). Is there a chance that you may have or could occasionally generate a 'catalog' of older products that were once PQS, but no longer are? While I'm on the subject, on the online version of the pre-qualified devices (section E003, for example), if I need a PQS specification sheet on a Vestfrost VLS-400, I have to download all the PDF's for Ice-lined Refrigerator / VestFrost solutions to get the one that I need. It would great if you could also list the manufacturer model as a column between 'Description' and 'Company' for example. All the best, Tory

Hi Tory, these are excellent suggestions, and each is certainly worth looking into. Denis Maire, who is in charge of this area of the PQS Catalogue, is looking into improving the PQS website at the moment. I do know that several of your suggestions are already being investigated. Perhaps Denis can provide further details. A final point on your comment that "if I need a PQS specification sheet on a Vestfrost VLS-400, I have to download all the PDF's for Ice-lined Refrigerator / VestFrost solutions to get the one that I need. It would great if you could also list the manufacturer model as a column between 'Description' and 'Company' for example." Of course, if you know the PQS code (E003/021 in this case), you can download the PDF directly. However I take your point that the model should really be included in the table as a column. Particularly as "Status" and "Next Review" could be omitted.

Hi Tory, I am pretty well aware of these issues and as Dan said we are trying to improve the database so that it would be most useful to end-users. Note that you can have access to the excel spreadsheet for E003 from the website and therefore you do not need to download the pdf. With regards to old appliances not in PQS anymore, this was an error from the developer as we wanted withdrawn products to remain published, but they failed doing so. We also need to gather information for older products, if you have this information I could eventually incorporate them into the E003 excel sheet. Your feedback is always the welcome Denis
I could not have said it better! If father Christmas is there I would also like to ask for PQS on an Iphone app to always have it me.
