POST 00481E : IMMUNIZATION TRAINING WEBSITE 30 July 2002 _______________________________________________________ Julie Jensen of the Expanded Programme on Immunization of the World Health Organization (mailto:[log in to unmask]) is pleased to announce on behalf of Jhilmil Bahl, the launching of a new website on Immunization Training. They hope to receive your comments and suggestions. _______________________________________________________ Exciting news!! The Immunization Training website is now available. It can be located at www.who.int/vaccines/training.htm A training partnership meeting was organized on 25 April which brought together 43 participants from both public and private sector. A website was proposed to share training related information amongst partners. WHO has developed this website, which is still in its initial stages. Although WHO will continue to develop and maintain this site, we would appreciate it if all parties involved in immunization training could contribute by sending updated information on events, resources and documents for review. Please check section entitled OUR PARTNERS for accurate representation of your organization's current and future training initiatives. In order to make this website a dynamic training resource, we will be sending follow-up emails on a regular basis to gather new training information from partners. Could each partner organization please identify a FOCAL POINT who would keep us updated on training activities in your organization. Please send this information to Please visit the website and send us your suggestions for making this a useful resource for training. The links on the site appear as follows: — About the partnership - gives a brief explanation how the partnership functions. — Our partners - provides details on current partner agencies and status of their training initiatives. In the future, we would like to expand our partnership base. — Upcoming Training events calendar - provides a reference for current and future training events, along with background materials, agendas, etc. — Immunization training resources - supplies training materials, websites, CD-ROMs and other resources that could be used for immunization training activities. — Training documents available for review - provides the opportunity for training documents to be reviewed and commented on. — Submit documents for review - partners can post training documents for review and feedback from others in the field. — News and views - allows you to share information and documents and provides a forum for discussion through a WebBoard. — Contact us - with e-mail address included ***Important note- To access the news and views section, enter the name as visitor and password as epitraining We appreciate the information, support and commitment that has gone into the creation of the Immunization Training website.
