[list=1] Sierra Leone's Health Information System Revitalized (8 August 2008) [/ol] The district health information system is part of a costed strategic plan developed by the Ministry of Health and Statistics Sierra Leone in partnership with Health Metrics Network, World Health Organization, World Bank, UNICEF, and University of Sierra Leone College of Medicine and Allied Health Services. HISP/Oslo of University and Inveneo were instrumental in assisting the Ministry of Health to address the technical aspects of the Health Information system. With funding from the World Bank and HMN, low powered computer systems that operate on solar energy are being installed in all 13 districts and District Monitoring and Evaluation Officers of the Ministry of Health and Sanitation have been trained to run the district information system.
