ANNUAL TECHNET FORUM SUBSCRIBER SURVEY The TECHNET Internet Discussion Forum is an open technical discussion group and a provides for the free exchange of information on logistics for health. This annual subscriber survey is based on the TECHNET Forum Subscriber Survey in Post0183 on 14 September 1999. Two questions relating to injection safety and SIGNpost were deleted as no longer relevant. A question was added on Internet access. A question on the continuation of the forum, previously asked in the 1998 annual subscriber survey was re-added from Post0035. To continue and maintain a moderated and directed discussion involving as many appropriate individuals, throughout the world, who are responsible for health and immunization logistics. 2. To provide a forum for the concise and facilitated exchange of knowledge and experience in implementing immunization programs and logistics for health. 3. To contribute to the development of actions leading to improved and effective immunization programs and health logistics. ___________________________________________________________________________ The TECHNET Internet Discussion Forum has 520 TECHNET contributors and subscribers based in Africa, Asia, Europe, North America, South America, and Oceania. The forum includes subscribers from United Nations Organizations, Non-Governmental Organizations, Governments and Ministries of Health, universities and the health care industry. The TECHNET Internet Discussion Forum has operated since February 1998, first as a forum for the discussion of issues related to Vaccine Vial Monitor introduction and as a resource for downloadable files of VVM specific technical information. In June 1998, with post0023, the forum began to cover all TECHNET Logistics for Health topics and served 217 subscribers worldwide. The TECHNET key document file directory of contains hundreds of technical and policy resource files - and these are available for download on email request or via the web. FTP is also supported. The moderated forum enables threaded focused discussions. The moderator manages public communications between TECHNET subscribers, keeps discussions in the TECHNET context and eliminates irrelevant and frivolous messages and junk e-mail. Editorial changes are sometimes made to improve readability and the forum accepts contributions in both the English and French languages. Allan Bass moderates the forum.
