What should we do when the vaccine expiry date only shows the year and month but not the day ? For example: October 2019, can we use this vaccine until the end of October 2019 or do we have to use it before the first of October 2019.

When expiry date shows only the month and year, we use the vaccine until the last day of the month which in this case for a vaccine which expires in Ocober 2019 would be the 31st.
To support Thato's above statement am attaching, herewith, the reference page of “Vaccine storage and Handling Toolkit, Centers for Disease prevention and control (CDC) National Centre for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases” (Jan 2019 version) which states under section “Understanding Expiration Date” that “when the expiration date is marked only a month and year, the product may be used up to and including the last day of that month”.
