Event Description:

TechNet-21 is pleased to host a discussion with VillageReach and JSI on how supply chains can be adapted to be more responsive to the needs of under-served populations. Too often, vaccines and other essential health products are not available when and where they are needed, particularly in under-served populations. With COVID-19 disruptions to routine immunization leaving an estimated 80 million children at risk for diseases like measles, diphtheria and polio, ensuring vaccines can reach all children is more critical than ever. VillageReach has developed a four-step guide for governments and implementing partners to purposefully consider equity in supply chain design, with a particular focus on reaching four populations: the urban poor, people living in conflict settings, remote or rural populations and migrants. Join us for a review of the guidance, and an example from JSI’s work of what these adaptations can look like in practice.

SPEAKERS:

· Tapiwa Mukwashi, Senior Manager, Supply Chain, VillageReach. Tapiwa has over 15 years of experience in public and private sector supply chains, and currently leads VillageReach’s Supply Chain for Community Health Workers program, implemented in partnership with Last Mile Health in Liberia.

· Mariam Zameer, Manager, Health Systems, VillageReach. Mariam provides technical assistance on designing supply chains and building strong health systems. She is interested in a focus on equity to improve health systems for the most vulnerable, and health financing.

· Wendy Prosser, Senior Technical Officer - Supply Chain, Immunization Center, JSI. Wendy provides technical assistance and strategic guidance on the immunization supply chain across JSI’s country teams to improve the design and management of the supply chain, create processes for data use for decision making, and apply global best practices to the country context.
