Two mothers, two children, two very different journeys for vaccines.

We follow the fictional story of two South African mothers trying to get their child vaccinated who are met with different outcomes. 1 in 5 children around the world are unable to receive vaccinations because of unequal access to immunization services.

Let’s close the gap and make sure ALL children - especially the poorest and most marginalized - have access to the vaccines they need: http://www.unicef.org/immunization

About TEDx, x = independently organized event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)

Dr Brendan Nyhan, Dartmouth College, discusses the risks of trying to correct unscientific beliefs about vaccines.
According to research published in the Pediatrics medical journal by Dr Nyhan and his colleagues, there is little evidence to show that debunking myths makes people more likely to vaccinate.
In fact, some strategies designed to correct myths are actually counterproductive.
