Ensuring that immunization services are accessible to all individuals is an essential part of primary health care and achieving universal health coverage (UHC). In recent years, vaccines have protected more of the world’s population than ever before, increasing life expectancy and economic growth; yet the use of immunization services has flatlined for a decade. Strategic Priority 1 of the recently launched Immunization Agenda 2030 provides a roadmap that aims to increase and sustain vaccination coverage within a primary healthcare agenda that supports UHC.
