Dear colleagues,

Africa CDC & WHO (AFRO & EMRO) are pleased to announce the official launch of the Joint Emergency Preparedness & Response Action Plan (JEAP) website. JEAP, officially launched in 2023 on the sidelines of the World Health Assembly in Geneva, is a strategic collaboration between Africa CDC, WHO AFRO, and WHO EMRO, designed to unify Pandemic Prevention, Preparedness, and Response (PPR) efforts across the African continent.

Over one year into JEAP’s implementation, Africa CDC & WHO are proud of the progress made in strengthening health security and transforming emergency preparedness, detection, and response systems. The collective efforts aim to ensure that no country is left behind in combating health crises, and that robust preparedness measures are in place to safeguard populations across Africa.

The newly launched website will serve as a central hub for stakeholders, offering up-to-date information on JEAP’s progress, key milestones, and the overarching vision of this vital initiative. Africa CDC & WHO encourage you to explore the website and learn more about the pivotal work being done to reinforce the continent’s ability to respond effectively to health emergencies.

Visit the JEAP website here: https://www.jointemergencyactionplan.com/.

Thank you for your continued collaboration and support in advancing Africa CDC & WHO shared goals of protecting and promoting public health across Africa.

With best wishes,

The TechNet Team, on behalf of Helena O'Malley and the JEAP Secretariat
