Dear colleagues,

As we start the process of planning for re-start of campaigns, I wanted to highlight a new app developed by the WHO academy to providehealth workers with mobile access to a wealth of COVID-19 knowledge resources, that include up-to-the-minute guidance, tools, training, and virtual workshops that will help them care for COVID-19 patients and protect themselves.

The app is built around the needs by 20,000 global health workers in a WHO Academy survey conducted in March 2020.

The survey found that two-thirds of respondents feel they need to be more prepared, particularly in infection prevention and control, case management, use of personal protective equipment and occupational safety, and risk communication and community engagement.  In the future, they also hope to add polio specific content.

The application is available for free download from boththe Apple App Store and Google Play Storein Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish.

Please share this information with your country teams and front line workers—and download the app yourself if you can. It’s an easy way to stay up to date with the ever changing COVID situation and guidance.

Regards,

Michel
