My apologies! I must have pressed the wrong key. Before I realized, the
posting I had just started to prepare was gone...
Exceptionally, this posting contains two short contributions on different
topics. Issa Makumbi (mailto:[log in to unmask]) from UNEPI submitted both
and there were no other on these topics.
About incineration, those without practical experience probably have some
questions. Some member must have such practical experience? Here no glass
is thrown into incinerators because glass doesn't burn. If large numbers of
vials are thrown in, then what is done with the magma of melted glass that
accumulates at the bottom? Let it cool down and solidify? And what next?

Factors related to vaccines.......(contribution by Ãœmit Kartoglu in Post

Please include diluent especially in glass containers which easily break
during transportation. Sometimes, the diluent is used to mix penicillins in
very remote areas rendering the Primary vaccine "wasted" as one should use
diluent of the same batch.

1. I have a problem with incineration - does it mean a type of incinerator?
What about the explosion of vials? Can't this damage the incinerator?
2. Burying may be dangerous as Environmentalists claim.
