Experiences with the MCV 5-dose Switch from Africa's EPI
This video series features interviews with EPI Managers, as well as UNICEF and WHO regional leads, sharing firsthand experiences from countries transitioning from 10-dose to 5-dose vials for the measles/MR vaccine. Experts discuss key questions such as: Why are African countries making the switch to 5-dose vials for routine immunization programs? What does the transition process look like? How does it impact vaccine coverage, wastage, costs, and overall program effectiveness?
These interviews were recorded by the United Nations Children's Fund Regional Office for Eastern and Southern Africa (UNICEF ESARO) during the 2023 EPI Managers' Meeting in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, with additional follow-up discussions conducted at the UNICEF Regional Office in Kenya.
