JSI has been working with Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, toward reaching its target of administering the human papillomavirus vaccine to 40 million girls ages 9–14 by 2020. Kirstin Krudwig describes JSI learning on how to reach adolescent girls in pursuit of this goal.
Building Bridges to Stronger Leadership and Governance for Health
Maternal and Child Survival Program (MCSP) worked with stakeholders from national to local levels of the health system to assist the local government to improve planning for vaccine delivery and develop multiple strategies to raise and maintain the measles second-dose coverage rate in Tanzania’s Tabora District. JSI’s Nassor Mohamed and Wade Smith describe how MCSP has supported local planning and use of community registers, enabling the Tabora District team to significantly increase immunization coverage.
The Dose Per Container Partnership supported vaccine product and program decision making, with a focus on assessing the trade-offs between immunization systems efficacy (timely and equitable coverage, wastage, supply chain, safety, cost, and health care worker behavior).
JSI has created a series of marketing tools and resources for the New Hampshire Immunization Program that addresses routine health care, community immunity, and vaccine safety. This multimedia campaign includes bus station and mall signage, radio ads, public service announcements, billboards, posters, and an award-winning provider toolkit.
Start the Conversation is a New Hampshire-based adult immunization awareness campaign created by the NH Immunization Program to promote conversations between health care providers and patients on the importance of vaccination throughout the lifespan. Join us as we Start the Conversation.
In 2011, JSI began assisting the Massachusetts Department of Public Health to increase adult vaccination rates by expanding access to vaccination services. The project focuses on all 10 of the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices-recommended vaccines for adults and achieving the Healthy People 2020 goals. JSI's work has grown to include the management of the MA Adult Immunization Coalition as well as the annual MA Adult Immunization Conference.
