SUMMARY:UNICEF Vaccine Procurement Practitioners Network (VPPN) Strategic Vaccine Procurement Series: Webinar 2 - What mitigating strategies can you leverage to prevent commonly-faced supply risks?
DESCRIPTION:Strategic Vaccine Procurement Series: Webinar 2 - What mitigating strategies can you leverage to prevent commonly-faced supply risks?\nLink to register for the webinar\nDear TechNet Colleagues,\nAre you also facing challenges with vaccine supply security and would like to strengthen your preparedness to vaccine stockouts? Our next webinar – the second in our strategic vaccine procurement series, that will take place on Thursday, 16 April, at 1pm GMT+2 – is then for you! The event will allow you to better understand what practical strategies you can leverage to prevent vaccine supply risks, thanks to the experience and lessons learnt that will be shared by government partners from Georgia, Liberia and Canada, who is also our subject-matter expert for the whole series and will build upon what they presented during our last webinar (see Strategic Vaccine Procurement Series resources below).\nMany of you have pointed out that the lack of preparation in case of stockouts is a recurring concern. Reviewing the whole procurement strategy is essential to address this issue, as well as linking together each area of the procurement cycle, instead of considering them as “standalone activities”. When seeing these activities as a continuous process that builds upon each other, countries will be able to identify when the activities need to be completed in order to avoid stockouts, and understand how they all inform and impact each other.\nThe webinar will be held in English, French and Russian and take place on Zoom, on Thursday, 16 April 2026, from 1pm to 2.05pm GMT+2.\nTo take part in it, you need to register here. Please, note that registration is compulsory and that, once registered, you will receive an e-mail confirmation with the link to the webinar.\nDo not hesitate to share any question you have on the subject in the comments below. Our panellists will be happy to answer you during the event or on the platform.\nAll relevant details on this webinar and the whole series are available below.\nTo gain access to all VPPN resources, please feel free to join the VPPN if you are a vaccine procurement professional. To do so, go to the VPPN group, and click join. Your request will be reviewed before approval. If you would like to invite someone who is not a TechNet member to join the VPPN, please send them to the TechNet registration page, where they will need to click on VPPN at the bottom of the page.\nAs usual, we are looking forward to seeing you at this event. And in the meantime, you can contact me, through the platform or by email at dschuwey@unicef.org, for any question or request you might have.\nKind regards,\nDyuti\n*****\nRegistration\nLink to register for the webinar\n \nDate & Time\nThursday, 16 April 2026, 1pm GMT+2 to 2:05pm GMT+2\n \nObjectives\n\nShare countries’ risk analysis assessment and how they identify key risks in the procurement process and mitigation measures\nHighlight the main challenges faced with stock management and how these are impacted by forecasting, planning and budgeting\nProvide peer-to-peer learning and triangular cooperation to support countries in accessing quality-assured vaccines\nAnswer questions on the topic\n\nSpeakers\nSubject-matter expert:\n\nJacqueline Kosche, Director, Public Health Agency of Canada\nKurt Young, Manager, Public Services and Procurement Canada\n\nGeorgia:\n\nVladimer Getia, Head of State Public Health Programs and Regional Management Department, Georgian National Center for Disease Control and Public Health\n\nLiberia:\n\nAdolphus Trokon Clarke, Programme Manager, Expanded Programme on Immunisation, Ministry of Health\n\nModerator:\n\nLilia Velinova-de Boever, Contracts Specialist, Vaccine Centre, UNICEF\n\nAgenda\n1:00pm GMT+2 Welcome and introduction of the topic\n1:03pm GMT+2 Subject-matter expert’s presentation\n1:18pm GMT+2 Senegal's presentation\n1:33pm GMT+2 Turkmenistan's presentation\n1:48pm GMT+2 Questions & Answers\n2:03pm GMT+2 Closing remarks\n2:05pm GMT+2 End & Further E-discussion on the VPPN\nResources for the Strategic Vaccine Procurement Series\n\nFirst webinar recording – How to better tie in planning, forecasting and budgeting within the procurement timeline?\nFirst webinar presentation in English, French and Russian\nQ&A SERIES - Strategic Vaccine Procurement - Discussion with Senegal and Turkmenistan\n\nFollowing event in the Strategic Vaccine Procurement Series\nQ2 2026: Webinar 3\nHow do legal and regulatory functions impact the procurement process?
