SUMMARY:BLN Webinar: Technology Solutions for Routine Immunization Challenges in Nigeria
DESCRIPTION:End-to-end supply chain and logistics systems are key components of successful immunization programs. However, in Nigeria, supply chain and logistics systems have encountered numerous challenges particularly on the supply side, such as incomplete and inadequate data on commodity turnover and late deliveries to primary health centers (PHCs). To address these challenges, eHealth Africa (eHA) in close collaboration with the Kano State Primary Health Care Management Board (KPHCMB) developed the Logistics Management Information System (LoMIS). This webinar will share how the LoMIS is being used to support reliable vaccine delivery service to last-mile health facilities in Northern Nigeria’s Kano State, covering 386 health facilities across 44 Local Government Areas (LGAs). The presenter will highlight the milestones to date, challenges encountered, and the lessons learned from this innovative initiative.\n\nThis webinar should be of interest to both technical and non-technical health information managers with an interest in vaccine delivery and logistics management for immunization programs.
