SUMMARY:What Works? A New Era in Malaria Prevention
DESCRIPTION:Malaria control and elimination efforts focus on multi-pronged approaches that include insecticide-treated bed nets, indoor insecticide spraying, seasonal chemoprevention, and timely testing and treatment. The WHO recommended the first malaria vaccine in 2021 as part of the Malaria Vaccine Implementation Programme in Ghana, Kenya, and Malawi. Today, the vaccine rollout is imminent in countries around the world.\n \nWhile much has been learned about new vaccine introductions in the past 15 years, there are always unexpected challenges. The vaccine has shown to be a potentially powerful tool in malaria prevention, but successful rollout and sustained implementation require partnership between EPI and national malaria control programs, communities, and other public and private partners.\n \nJoin JSI immunization and malaria prevention, control, and treatment experts as the world prepares for a new era in malaria prevention.\nRegister here: https://jsi.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_7wtXlNZBT3mB1fYm-0hvZw?utm_source=Immunization+at+JSI&utm_campaign=ca070aabc2-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2023_02_28_04_46_COPY_01&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_-c84fe8d0c0-%5BLIST_EMAIL_ID%5D&mc_cid=ca070aabc2&mc_eid=db81c5b92f#/registration
