Dear TechNet colleagues,

Pleased to share two recent publications contributing to the evidence on vaccine equity, disease surveillance, and epidemic preparedness.

1. PLOS ONE – Sole-author publication: Global mpox outbreak dynamics during and after the public health emergency, highlighting the need for sustained surveillance, outbreak preparedness, and equitable vaccine access.

https://doi.org/10.1371/journal.pone.0350572

2. Nature Medicine – GBD 2023 Measles Collaborators: A global analysis of measles burden and vaccine coverage among children under five, 1990–2023, highlighting persistent immunity gaps and the urgent need to strengthen routine immunization.

https://doi.org/10.1038/s41591-026-04661-7

The common message: Vaccine equity remains central to preventing outbreaks, reducing avoidable deaths, and strengthening health-system resilience.
