BLN Webinar: Identifying and Addressing Challenges in Deploying an Electronic Registry | The Ghana Health Service Experience

The BID Learning Network (BLN) invites you to watch a webinar entitled “Identifying and Addressing Challenges in Deploying an Electronic Registry: The Ghana Health Service Experience.” Introducing electronic registries (e-registries) in sub-Saharan Africa where internet connectivity and electricity are not always reliable, come with a lot of challenges, including errors and compromised data quality. In this webinar, the presenter shares how the Ghana Health Service (GHS) has developed an e-registry within the District Health Information Management System 2 (DHIMS2 e-Tracker) to collect, manage and analyze transactional case-based records at the community level for maternal and child health as well as TB management services. The presenter shares lessons learned from the deployment of the DHIMS2 e-Tracker in 86 health facilities in four districts of the central region in Ghana whose objective was to document and address challenges encountered by community health staff in initiating electronic registries in a developing world context.

This presentation should be of interest to Data Management Specialists, EPI Managers, Health Management Information System (HMIS) Specialists and primary health care specialists committed to improving data management systems.
