Description: Ethiopia’s MOH is currently considering a transition from MR 10-dose to 5-dose vaccine vials (as of June 2022). In order to quantify and better evaluate the opportunity, the Ethiopia CAPACITI team leverages Linksbridge/Sassenach’s Total Systems Effectiveness (TSE) tool. Inputs and other assumptions were tailored to Ethiopia’s demographic and other considerations. The Zambia study (2019) helped to inform wastage assumptions, due to the lack of data in Ethiopia. The Linksbridge/Sassenach TSE tool can be adapted for any country using available data to provide further evidence for switching to 5-dose vials.
