The 5 main data sources for health inequality monitoring (census, vital registration systems, surveys, institution based records and surveillance systems,) all have data limitations related to sampling, timing, data gaps, data quality and lack of representativeness of data, fragmented data and non-disaggregated data. (b) Feasibility depends on the level of development of health information systems, as well as the capacity that exists to conduct monitoring, and the extent to which addressing health inequalities has been prioritized. |
