The report compares the findings across countries.
Résultats attendus More informed global, regional, and national pro equity policy based on case study evidence of the determinants of immunisation inequities in 10 countries.
Forces Based on assessments of the 10 case studies, the report provides recommendations for pro equity immunisation planning. It concludes that the common themes/policy recommendations in equity oriented programming include
(a) inter-sectoral action;
(b) inclusion of population groups and civil society;
(c) progression towards universal health coverage;
(d) adoption of a comprehensive PHC approach;
(e) detailed explorations of health determinants of inequalities;
(f) Countries with high inequality alongside higher national levels of coverage require a targeted policy approach that prioritizes the most vulnerable.
Contraintes/Limitations There are limitations of the underlying data and methods in the studies. The analyses drew from cross-sectional data, and thus claims about causality should be avoided. While the data used in this report were all collected as part of the DHS or NFHS, the year of the most recent available survey varied for the 10 countries, ranging from 2012 to 2016.
