From protection to prevention: The power of immunization for people living with non-communicable diseases

IFPMA recently launched a policy report commissioned to The Health Policy Partnership (HPP), From protection to prevention: The power of immunization for people living with non-communicable diseases, outlining how policy- and decision-makers can ensure that all people living with non-communicable diseases (NCDs) receive the immunizations they need to live long and healthy lives.

The policy report explores the intersection between four major NCDs – cancer, cardiovascular disease (CVD), chronic respiratory disease (CRD), and diabetes – and four key vaccine-preventable respiratory infections – COVID-19, influenza, pneumococcal disease, and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV).

The report is accompanied by four summary infographics.

The report has been commissioned ahead of the fourth high-level meeting of the UN General Assembly on the prevention and control of noncommunicable NCDs and the promotion of mental health and well-being that will take place in New York on 25thSeptemberThe new Political Declaration is a chance to place immunization at the centre of our efforts to tackle chronic diseases, protect lives, health systems, and economies.
