The recent multi-country hantavirus cluster linked to cruise ship travel has highlighted the importance of preparedness, rapid detection, coordinated response, and clear public communication for emerging zoonotic threats. While the overall public health risk remains low, the outbreak has drawn attention to the rare Andes virus strain, which can spread through close contact in confined settings. This WHO EPI-WIN webinar will bring together experts and partners to share the latest situation and evidence, operational lessons and WHO guidance, and practical approaches for preparedness and response to hantavirus and similar emerging health threats. |
