The New York State Immunization Information System (NYSIIS) team is interested in learning what platforms other IIS use to train their users. NYSIIS currently offers formal user training in the form of recorded Webex webinars, posted on the public-facing NYSDOH website. From the NYSIIS training page on its public site, users can select the specific training they would like to view and are then prompted by a required registration page before the video will buffer and play. This registration page is critical not only because it tracks usage but also because the registration fields are used in IIS user setup. The current platform presents these trainings using a file type known to cause issues, and it can be glitchy when users try to view them. If any jurisdictions are willing to share the platforms they use for training their users, NYSIIS would greatly appreciate it.

The platform must:

  • Allow a training link to be posted to a public-facing website with a streaming option
  • Prompt users with a required registration page before viewing the training

The Illinois Department of Health has begun to develop a Tableau training plan for new immunization employees. It is searching for information regarding:

  • Documented staff training plans for new immunization staff in the area of data visualization (specifically Tableau)
  • Training components that expand outside the immunization division

The Wisconsin Department of Health is seeking information about COVID-19 data and influenza administration data visualization. Have any jurisdictions created data visualizations for respiratory vaccine data, or do they have any plans to create COVID-19 and influenza dashboards? If so, what metrics are jurisdictions including?

A Message from The Vaccine Education Center at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia:

Hello!

We are researchers at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). Together with our research team, we are reaching out to people like yourself to see if they would be interested in helping us evaluate a web-based tool designed to facilitate more effective communication about vaccines online.

Participation would consist of:

  • Completing two 15- to 20-minute surveys (one at the start of the study and one at the end of the study)
  • Trying the web-based tool over a period of four weeks when you are using your social media
  • Optional participation in a small, one-hour focus group session about your experience (after completion of the second survey)

We will show you how to use the tool and reach out to you via text messaging during the four-week testing period to check if you have used it and get feedback to a couple of brief poll questions. The text messages will also include a link should you wish to journal about your experience during this time. Answering the poll questions and completing the journaling are optional.

Participation is voluntary, and you can drop out of the study at any time. Modest compensation in the form of a visa gift card will be provided based on which activities (surveys, journaling, focus group) you complete.

To qualify for participation, you must be 18 years of age or older and have had at least one social media account open for six months or longer.

If you have any questions about participating in the study, please contact our research team at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. Please add the term “ARTT study” in the subject line, so your email reaches us most efficiently.

Thank you for your consideration of our request.

Sincerely,
