POST 00927E : PIS/PQS 20 May 2006 ___________________________________________________________ This contribution is from Anthony Battersby (mailto:[email protected]) from the United Kingdom, expressing concerns over the PIS/PQS process. _____________________________________________________________ Dear Claude, PIS has always been one of the more useful documents produced by WHO, but much of it is now 6 years out of date. I realise that there are some update sheets on the WHO website but most of the information is now very out of date. Unless the new PQS is in place soon there will be nothing up to date that purchasers can use to help them make procurement decisions. The cMYP process could really use the cost data from an updated PIS or PQS. Much effort and resources have been expended on PQS over the past 2 years or so. We had a comprehensive presentation at the Antalya meeting of Technet. What has happened since then? The end user community needs to see the results. Industry, too, has participated in the PQS process. They need evidence that their effort has been worthwhile otherwise WHO risks loosing credibility as a specifying agency.
