AIRA's Continued COVID-19 Response and Resource Reminder

Hello,

We know that many of you are responding to the COVID-19 outbreak, perhaps you are learning to work from home and potentially with young children demanding your attention. Thank you for your work!

Here at AIRA, we are also experiencing some of the same challenges, like learning to work with small children at our feet and ensuring we have a business continuity plan. But I want to share with you some of the ways our operations are shifting in response to the pandemic.

One of the fundamental principles of our work is our collaborative approach, which involves subject matter experts from our community. For this reason, we are evaluating the impact of this pandemic on our activities. As a result, we know that many of our projects will need to be postponed.

  • We have postponed all AIRA meetings through May and continue to evaluate meetings and events beyond May.
  • We are evaluating our content and adjusting to meet the changing priorities. Our next Discovery Session, scheduled for March 23rd at 4 PM ET, will highlight some of the lessons learned from the H1N1 pandemic.
  • Committee and Workgroup meetings will continue to meet until we no longer have sufficient participation to continue.

And speaking of business continuity, do you have a plan for maintaining IIS operations? No? Look no further than the recently released AIRA guide Business Continuity Planning for Immunization Information System Programs, which provides helpful information for preparing your IIS to manage all types of disruptions. The guide and mini-guide are available in the AIRA repository.

We welcome your questions and suggestions for how we can best support you throughout this unprecedented event and will continue to monitor and adjust as needed. We appreciate your work and thank you for your patience and flexibility.
