The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Bridge Access Program for COVID-19 vaccines is being launched to maintain broad access to COVID-19 vaccines for uninsured adults. Provider systems and Immunization Information Systems (IIS) will leverage existing data elements and codes from the HL7 v2 messages that providers send to their IIS to capture bridge doses, including existing funding source and eligibility codes. AIRA's Standards and Interoperability Steering Committee (SISC) developed the COVID-19 Bridge Access Program: Preferred Select Codes for IIS Reporting document to provide guidance in this area. For those of you with CDC SharePoint access, this document is also available on the ISD Awardees and IIS Partners SharePoint sites.

AIRA’s Publication Project Workgroup (PPW) was launched in 2022 to foster the increased publication of peer-reviewed IIS-related articles. • COVID-19 Data and Influenza Administration Data Visualization: Request from Wisconsin regarding information about COVID-19 data and influenza administration data visualization
• Data Modernization in the Supplemental Funding Application: Request from Vermont for ideas on how other states plan to address data modernization in the Supplemental Funding application
• Data Request Process: Request from Minnesota for information about data request processes
• IIS Platforms Used for Training: Request from the New York State Immunization Information System (NYSIIS) team for information regarding the IIS platforms that are used for training
• Transgender Youth, Alias, and Gender Change: Request from Washington state for information regarding transgender youth, alias, and gender change to gather lessons learned and/or methods other states have used

The Connecticut Department of Public Health IIS is inquiring about methods other jurisdictions have used, successfully or unsuccessfully, to identify change of address for adults and children in their IIS (within and beyond the jurisdiction). They are considering the USPS National Change of Address (NCOA) data set, as recommended in the AIRA Patient Status in Immunization Information Systems resource, to obtain the most accurate and up-to-date addresses. They would like to hear about this or other methods, and are interested in aspects including matching, data security, interface with the IIS, and cost.

AIRA invites you to take a tour of our recently released resources and guides! Mark your calendars because the next AIRA Discovery Session will take place on Monday, September 18, from 4–5 p.m. ET.

During the session, AIRA subject matter experts will walk through the following:

• Workforce Needs Assessment results from interviews with IIS Managers
• Provider Onboarding Templates, including the onboarding readiness checklist and onboarding guide
• Technical guidance recommendations on messaging Preferred Name of Patient and Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity (SOGI)
• COVID-19 Bridge Access Program Preferred Select Codes, recommended by the Standards & Interoperability Steering Committee (SISC)

There will be time for questions and answers at the end of the webinar.
