Mark Your Calendars for the January Discovery Session

Before your schedule gets too hectic with the holiday festivities, be sure to add our next discovery session to your calendar! Join us on Monday, January 22, 2024, from 4 to 5 p.m. ET as we learn about the Immunization Data Exchange, Advancement and Sharing (IDEAS) project, an initiative to improve data sharing capabilities between health information exchanges (HIEs) and IIS.

During the session, you’ll hear about:

  • The value of HIEs in working with IIS – Kate Ricker, Civitas
  • Lessons learned from IIS jurisdictions participating in the IDEAS project, including:
    • Eliza Ramsey, Alaska
    • Kim Gulliver, Colorado
    • Brian Napier, Ohio
    • Tim Neely, West Virginia

There will be time for questions and answers at the end of the webinar.

Once you have registered, you will receive a confirmation email which contains links to add the meeting to your calendar.

If you’re unable to attend, this session will be recorded and available in the AIRA repository.

HOT TOPICS

New HL7 Patient Matching Reports Released in AART!

In July 2023, AIRA, CDC, and MACAW (the Measurement for Assessment and Certification Advisory Workgroup) launched a new measurable concept, HL7 Patient Matching, into the Testing and Discovery phase of the Measurement and Improvement (M&I) initiative. Patient matching is the process of identifying and linking a patient’s data across different health systems to create a comprehensive view of that person’s health care record. Initial reports were released in AART for participating IIS to view and assess alignment with MACAW-informed measures and tests for this area.

AIRA has worked with MACAW to improve the test cases since the initial first round of testing in July and is in the process of releasing the second round of Testing and Discovery reports in AART. Although the second report has the same measures as the first report, it should not be directly compared to your previous report, as some test cases have changed.

As part of M&I’s continuous improvement efforts, IIS staff are strongly encouraged to review their reports in AART and provide feedback on the methodology, preliminary data, test case scenarios, and/or test case expectations. Please send feedback to Cette adresse e-mail est protégée contre les robots spammeurs. Vous devez activer le JavaScript pour la visualiser. or submit a technical assistance form.

Power BI Tip of the Month: Using Tooltips to Their Fullest Potential

Tooltips can be used to feature additional data without placing another visual on the report. Power BI Desktop has a lot of options for tooltip customization that can give additional context to the user. For example, you can perform calculations such as the sum of the selection. Some custom visuals, like Drill Down Visuals, include a custom tooltip option that gives additional features. One feature gives the ability to show relevant data from another series, which means that you can give your users extra data in a clutter-free way. For example, use a custom tooltip to track immunizations by county. If interested, read more here.

Now Available! Additional Provider Onboarding Templates for Jurisdictional Use

AIRA’s Onboarding Shared Services Program is excited to announce the addition of two onboarding templates to support IIS with provider onboarding.

  1. Onboarding Standard Operating Procedure: a tool that documents policies, tasks, communications, and responsibilities associated with the onboarding of provider organizations
  2. Roles and Responsibilities (RASCI): a tool that documents roles and responsibilities among IIS staff for tasks associated with the onboarding process

As a reminder, the collection of templates can be used as guidance in developing local processes and documentation or to help identify where existing resources can be modified to better align with the recommendations identified within AIRA’s Onboarding Consensus-Based Recommendations. They are intended to be personalized and modified to meet jurisdictional needs.

For more information and to download the templates, please visit the AIRA Provider Onboarding Templates page.
