Greetings and happy holidays!
It’s hard to believe we are getting ready to wrap up another year. Closing out this year, AIRA held another informative Discovery Session. Thank you to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for joining us on November 27 and discussing the Immunization Information Systems Annual Report (IISAR). This session is now available in the AIRA Repository. The next Discovery Session will be held on January 22, 2024, so be sure to mark your calendars and stay tuned for additional information.

December 3 marked the end of the AIRA 2024 National Meeting call for abstracts submission period. Our team at AIRA, along with members of our AIRA board, are already busy at work reviewing the record-breaking abstracts that were submitted. For those of you who submitted an abstract, speaker acceptance notifications will be sent on Monday, January 29.
On November 29, Mary Beth Kurilo and I attended a Joint Public Health Informatics Taskforce (JPHIT) meeting hosted by the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials. In addition to discussing the current informatics environment and the purpose of JPHIT, we also spent time identifying next steps for developing formal responses on behalf of JPHIT to key opportunities such as federal Notices of Proposed Rule Making (NPRM). JPHIT is developing a two-page resource document that, when finished, will broadly discuss public health funding and narrowly focus on IIS funding, but it can be updated with any relevant public health program. This resource will be available in the first quarter of 2024, and we look forward to sharing the final version with you next year.

The call for abstracts has officially closed, and we are hard at work reviewing the record number of abstracts submitted for consideration. Speaker acceptance notifications will be distributed on Monday, January 29, so be sure to keep an eye out.

Now Available! Additional Provider Onboarding Templates for Jurisdictional Use
|

AIRA’s Onboarding Shared Services Program is excited to announce the addition of two onboarding templates to support IIS with provider onboarding.
- Onboarding Standard Operating Procedure: a tool that documents policies, tasks, communications, and responsibilities associated with the onboarding of provider organizations
- Roles and Responsibilities (RASCI): a tool that documents roles and responsibilities among IIS staff for tasks associated with the onboarding process
As a reminder, the collection of templates can be used as guidance in developing local processes and documentation or to help identify where existing resources can be modified to better align with the recommendations identified within AIRA’s Onboarding Consensus-Based Recommendations. They are intended to be personalized and modified to meet jurisdictional needs.
