Register Today for AIRA’s March Discovery Session

Add the next AIRA Discovery Session on Monday, March 25, 2024, from 4 to 5 p.m. ET to your calendar! Join us for a preview of the updated IIS Functional Standards.

CDC has engaged the Public Health Informatics Institute (PHII) and other members of the immunization information system (IIS) community to participate in a project to update the IIS Functional Standards. This effort is undertaken periodically to ensure the Functional Standards remain relevant and achievable in maintaining an effective, efficient, and scalable IIS.

During this session, you’ll hear about:

  • The project approach, objectives, and recommended changes
  • The 2024 Functional Standards, expected to be released in the near future

There will be time for questions and answers at the end of the webinar.

Once you have registered, you will receive a confirmation email which contains links to add the meeting to your calendar.

If you’re unable to attend, this session will be recorded and available in the AIRA repository.

Why One Ought to Publish

Congratulations to members of the IIS community who had abstracts accepted for the AIRA National Meeting in Orlando, Florida! #AIRA2024 is just the beginning of your dissemination efforts. Whether you have an abstract or not, if you have been working on an innovative application of IIS, the Publication Project Workgroup (PPW) would like to encourage you to write and submit your work for publication in a peer-reviewed journal.

Why publish your IIS innovation?
Contribute to growing knowledge
By publishing your innovative applications of IIS, you will contribute to the evidence base supporting IIS as an essential public health infrastructure. By publishing, you can be an ambassador for the IIS community, communicating the capabilities and impacts of IIS.

Inspire others
At a recent PPW meeting, workgroup members shared how reading publications inspired new work or research in their own jurisdictions. What you share in a publication can provide an “a-ha!” moment for someone else in the IIS community.

Elevate your résumé/CV
Maybe publications are not highly prized in your current position. However, having publications on your résumé or CV can make you stand out from other candidates when exploring future career opportunities.

Need help publishing?
Launched in 2022, AIRA’s PPW aims to foster an increase in publication of peer-reviewed IIS-related articles. As part of this effort, AIRA created a “collegial queries” email address, Cette adresse e-mail est protégée contre les robots spammeurs. Vous devez activer le JavaScript pour la visualiser.. You can send publication-related questions to this email address, and subject matter experts from the PPW will respond. Any publication-related questions are welcome.
