Follow-up on Posts 00674E and 00682E

Amber Hogan, (mailto:[email protected]) from the USA offers further advice
on HepB vaccination schedule. These are consistent with recommandations
already published in previous postings.

According to CDC recommendations enforced through US Occupational Safety
and Health Administration - HBV vaccines should be given at 1 month, 2
months, 6 months - with an antibody test 1-2 months post-last dose to
ensure appropriate levels. Recent CDC studies state nearly 80% immunity
after just the first dose (which is good news for those in high turn-over
facilities that only are able to receive one dose - e.g., prisons, nursing
homes, etc.).
