POST 01029E : USE OF ETHANOL FOR VACCINE INJECTIONS
22 December 2006

Jedeth Mamora (mailto:[email protected]) from UNICEF/Indonesia has
another question here below.
_______________________________________
Dear team Technet,
Could the use of ethanol or alcohol swab before and after vaccine
injection possibly hamper or destruct the effectiveness of vaccines
in the body? To how much percentage does the damage could do to the
vaccine? And are there any studies on this particular issue
published? I ask this question because in where I am working, the
practices of using alcohol swab are prevailing.
Thank you,
JJ
