Fortalecimento da experiência do serviço de imunização: Mozambique

Depois de um aumeno durante duas ou mais décadas, as taxas de cobertura de vacinação de rotina, começaram a estagnarem em 2010. Uma estimativa feita em 2018, cerca de 19,4 milhões de crianças com menos de um ano de idade, não recebem vacinas básicas. Embora os serviços de imunização historicamente tenham se concentrado nas funções de distribuição e oferta, as iniquidades destacaram a importância da geração da demanda - e a necessidade de um modelo de oferta de serviços centrado nas pessoas que incorpore as perspectivas do trabalhador de saúde e do utente para uma experiência de serviço de imunização mais positiva.

Os parceiros de imunização, no fluxo de trabalho de experiência de serviço do Centro de Demanda de Vacinação colaboram para melhor informar uma nova direção na prestação de serviços de imunização de qualidade centrada nas pessoas e reorientar os serviços de imunização para incluir as perspectivas e necessidades do cuidador, utente e profissional de saúde. Em apoio a este esforço, a John Snow Research & Training Institute, Inc. (JSI), em colaboração com Gavi, a Vaccine Alliance, consolidou o conhecimento existente e conduziu uma rápida avaliação sobre a experiência de serviço de imunização aníveis global e regional por meio de análises documentais e entrevistas com informantes chaves (EICs). Os resultados desses EIC’s foram organizados em nove componentes principais. 

Esses componentes formaram a base para coleta de percepções adicionais em quatro países, incluindo Moçambique. Estabelecido logo após a independência de Moçambique em 1979, o Programa Alargado
de Imunização (PAV) viu um aumento de 59% na imunização nacional Cobertura(DPT3) entre 1985 e 2019. Nos últimos cinco anos, no entanto, Moçambique enfrentou várias crises e a cobertura DPT3 estabilizou em %,1 sugerindo a necessidade de continuar a fortalecer os serviços, investigando também o que impulsiona os utentes e os cuidadores a procurem ou evitarem os serviços de imunização.
