The American Immunization Registry Association (AIRA) is hosting a regional workshop that will include colleagues from jurisdictions in the Midwest region (AIRA Region 3) of the United States. This 1.5-day in-person workshop will be held July 11–12, 2023, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, at the Hyatt Regency Milwaukee.

Attendees will have an opportunity to hear from national experts on the latest IIS developments and engage in interactive sessions and collaborative discussions with colleagues.

As the purpose of the workshops is to provide technical assistance and support for regional collaboration and development, IIS in the geographic region have been given priority for the available slots. However, we anticipate that there will be limited space for additional attendees. The registration fee for additional attendees is $275, and travel support is not available at this time. All members of the IIS community are welcome to express interest, but IIS jurisdictions and implementers will be given priority.

AIRA is pleased to announce that individual IIS Assessment and Validation reports have been released in AART for the first quarter of 2023. These reports offer jurisdictions valuable insights into their Measurement and Improvement (M&I) results. 

The latest 2023 Aggregate Assessment and Summary Validation reports, which provide a broader perspective for jurisdictions and other stakeholders in the immunization community, are now accessible via the AIRA repository. 

On April 24, AIRA hosted a Discovery Session on How to Build Resiliency and Prevent Burnout While Preparing for the Next Pandemic. During this Discovery Session, Anne Schuchat, MD, an internist and epidemiologist whose career at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention spanned 33 years, shared approaches for dealing with compassion fatigue and exhaustion.

This six-week course is designed for jurisdictional immunization information systems (IIS) staff responsible for activities associated with the provider onboarding process. IIS managers and other immunization program staff may also benefit from participating to better understand the IIS activities involved in the onboarding process. Sessions will be held on Thursdays from 4 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. ET from June 15 to July 20.

The Immunization Integration Program created the IIP Vaccine-Related Code Sets Data Collection Tool to identify gaps and areas for improvement and to better understand the process of updating immunization-related coded values in your data systems. 

Your responses will be kept anonymous, shared with the CDC Code Set team, and used to inform a vaccine-related code set landscape analysis and recommendations. The survey will be open from May 1 to June 9, 2023. To access the data collection tool, click the following link https://redcap.link/vcodesets. We anticipate that completing the survey will take less than 30 minutes. A PDF download with the questions is available for review before submission.
