December 2021 SnapShots Newsletter

Hello,

As the year comes to a close, AIRA wants to share our final 2021 edition of SnapShots. This edition is packed full of information from our members and partners across the country about work being done to help end the pandemic and avoid outbreaks of other serious diseases.

This edition of SnapShots includes articles about:

  • Work being done in Nevada to achieve equity during the COVID-19 vaccine response
  • How leveraging IIS as a tool can help recover and improve routine vaccination coverage rates
  • How assessment of the vaccination rates of adults and pregnant women is an important tool to ensure these populations receive routine vaccinations and to help limit the spread of other vaccine-preventable diseases
  • Measurement and using IIS to enhance reporting
  • Staffing and recruiting an IIS team

In addition to these great articles, this newsletter features the premiere of AIRA’s new technology blog, Tech Corner! This is a monthly blog that will introduce technology concepts in a straightforward and streamlined way. Through this blog you’ll learn how tech and public health can work together to further our shared goals. Blog entries will be posted on the AIRA website each month and a column will be featured quarterly in SnapShots. Feel free to share the blog with others and on your social media channels. Don't forget to tag AIRA!

SnapShots is AIRA’s quarterly newsletter that highlights the progress, best practices, and accomplishments of IIS. We accept articles on a rolling basis and would love to hear from you! Please email SnapShots Editor Katie Reed and AIRA Communication Specialist Lonnie Peterson with any articles or ideas for future articles.
