Regaining High Vaccination Coverage in Brazil and throughout the Americas

In 2019, the WHO identified low vaccination coverage as one of the world’s top 10 public health challenges. Seeking to develop and support initiatives to reverse the low vaccination coverage in the Region of the Americas, the PAHO has been actively leading vaccination initiatives and promoting discussions, sharing of experiences, and cooperation among its Member States.

Vaccination Week in the Americas 2023: “Get up-to-date. #EachVaccineCounts”

The slogan “Get up-to-date. #EachVaccineCounts” headlined the celebration of the 21st VWA from 22–29 April 2023. This year, VWA sought to revitalize national immunization programs and raise their profile on the political agenda, as well as regaining and maintaining regional goals for the control and elimination of vaccine-preventable diseases.
