Information Request: Data Requests

Hello,

Please see the following information request. If you are willing to share information, please reply to this email and include your contact information for follow-up.

Information Requested

Vermont’s IIS is being deluged with data requests, as we’re sure others are. We provide aggregate data and generally report at the county level. More and more, we are getting requests from smaller and smaller towns or groups of towns requesting their data at that level, which, if we granted, would mean us invoking our small cell exclusion rules. (We asterisk any cell with six or fewer.)

We’re interested in hearing from other states about the following questions:

  • What do other states do about aggregate data requests?
  • How low do you go in terms of releasing aggregate numbers?
  • Are  there limits imposed on how often a requester can ask for data?
  • How much is too much?
  • Do you charge for data requests, and if so, what do you charge?
  • Any other guidance?

Responses to this information request will be summarized and posted in the AIRA repository, and can be found by using the “Information Requests” filter.
