PtD strategy and workplan: 2024-29

Out now

Capitalising on momentum

PtD has just published its strategy and workplan for the period 2024-29. Entitled Capitalising on momentum, the document defines the PtD coalition's strategic enablers and objectives for the next five years.

Capitalising on momentum is the culmination of a participatory process that began almost a year ago. With pro-bono support from Dr. Shelby Kemper and Lucy Duncan, the PtD secretariat sought the views of coalition members on questions related to the role of the PtD coalition, what its areas of focus should be, and how it should be hosted and funded. The PtD secretariat, chair and deputy chair then used this feedback to clarify the areas of work in which the coaltion shoud work and how it should do so. The result is Capitalising on momentum, at the centre of which is PtD's five-year strategic plan (below) and objectives.

What you need to know

Interpreting PtD's five-year strategic plan

The outer layer of the graphic comprises PtD's foundations: robust governance, sustainable funding and effective leadership. All of its activities are underpinned by monitoring and evaluation, the framework for which is provided by PtD's Theory of Action.

The next layer contains PtD's strategic enablers: these are the areas of work that are essential to the coalition's long-term goal. Both the foundations and strategic enablers will facilitate and contribute to our vision of a professionalised, empowered and equipped health supply chain workforce, and ultimately, improved health outcomes.

The three objectives

Three objectives are at the centre of PtD's new five-year strategy:

Professionalisation

The PtD coalition will focus on driving supply chain management professionalisation and effective leadership in countries

Advocacy

The PtD coalition's advocacy efforts will become more evidence-based to demonstrate the impact of its activities

Sustainability

PtD will explore new funding sources in order to secure its financial sustainablity
