Leveraging a national biorepository in Zambia to assess measles and rubella immunity gaps across age and space Authors include Andrea C. Carcelen, Amy K. Winter, William J. Moss, Kyla Hayford, and Simon Mutembo This article, published in the Scientific Reports, describes innovative methods for sampling residual sera and analyzing measles and rubella seroprevalence data, as well as the value of seroprevalence estimates to better understand and control measles and rubella. The findings reveal that despite a successful childhood vaccination program in Zambia, measles immunity gaps persisted across age groups and districts, indicating the need for additional activities to complement routine immunization. |
