Request for Comments on CMS Draft Rules and a Job Opportunity

Hello,

This email contains a request for feedback on proposed changes to a Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) rule and a job opportunity in Washington state.

Request for Feedback on Proposed Changes to CMS Rule

AIRA welcomes your review and edits/suggestions to the attached comments regarding the proposed changes to the CMS rule on Quality Programs and Medicare Promoting Interoperability Program Requirements for Eligible Hospitals and Critical Access Hospitals. The compiled comments from AIRA members are attached. This was also recently discussed at the Standards and Interoperability Steering Committee.

These draft rules propose requiring immunization registry reporting under Promoting Interoperability, and would begin with the electronic health record reporting period in calendar year 2022. Our attached draft comments enthusiastically support this change.

If you have further edits/suggestions, please send them in the attached Word document or in the body of an email to Rebecca Sandtveit by June 10, 2021. We will incorporate your edits/suggestions and send out the final comments by June 1, 2021, so you can echo (or borrow text from) them if your organization chooses to submit its own comments to CMS. AIRA will submit final member comments to CMS by 5 p.m. ET on June 28, 2021.

If you have any questions, please contact Mary Beth Kurilo.
