SnapShots: Your Midweek Boost of Inspiration

Hello,

On page 2 of SnapShots, Oregon wrote: “Immunization information systems are staffed by determined, resourceful people because they have to be. We find ways to get our job done, we improvise, we adapt, we make the best of it.” While this was written months ago by Andrew Osborn of the Oregon Immunization Program, it has never been more true than it is today.

We know that many of you are responding to the COVID-19 outbreak, and more of you will likely be pulled into the response over time. We want to be sensitive to your new challenges, while sharing with you the March edition of SnapShots. We hope you gain some inspiration from Oregon’s Vaccination Rapid Response Tool that was developed to help in outbreak response (page 2) and some encouragement from our community’s progress in clinical decision support (page 6).

We are continuing to adjust our work as needed, but at this time, we are still planning on a June edition of SnapShots. If anyone has a story about how their IIS operations are shifting or adapting in response to the pandemic, we’d love to feature your progress or success in the upcoming edition. Please email us, and please continue to reach out if there’s anyway AIRA can support you throughout this challenging time.

Best,
