What Makes Vulnerable Urban Populations Hard-to-Reach in Indonesian Cities?
JSI is helping to overcome low immunization coverage in urban areas of Indonesia by understanding factors that hinder access to and use of vaccination. In collaboration with the Centre for Health Research Universitas Indonesia, we conducted a diagnostic assessment of reasons for low coverage in Jakarta municipalities and prioritized potential interventions to meet the immunization needs of urban communities.
Reaching Unvaccinated Children: Lessons from the DRC
JSI conducted a rapid assessment of barriers to access and use of routine immunization among urban poor living in Kinshasa, the Democratic Republic of Congo. With the Ministry of Health, JSI developed an action plan and implemented local solutions to strengthen and increase equitable access to routine immunization services. This work built on an earlier multi-country analysis of urban immunization.
