Mainstreaming and integrating gender equity and social inclusion (GESI) issues in health supply chains supports equity and ensures that the supply markets, supply chains and product journeys better meet the needs and preferences of all clients, which ultimately helps improve health outcomes. As work increases to reduce inequities across the global health space, there is a need to translate and apply equity principles to all health systems components, including the supply chain.
On Thursday, September 15th at 8 am ET (check your local time) join IAPHL for an interactive webinar that will explore how integrating and mainstreaming GESI into supply chain management and functions can contribute to improved health outcomes for all, as well as discuss challenges and opportunities to integrate GESI into global health supply chains. The webinar will feature subject matter experts, including moderator Miranda Buba Atare, Supply Chain Program Manager at JSI; panelist Dr. Taroub Harb Faramand, President and Founder of WI-HER; and panelist Yasmin Chandani, CEO of inSupply Health, LTD, who will share insights as well as guide discussions with participants throughout the session. Miranda Buba Atare, MPH | JSI
Miranda is a pharmacist by training and has over 10 years of senior level experience in leading public health supply chain programs in Nigeria. In her current role as Supply Chain Program Manager for JSI’s UNFPA project in Nigeria, she provides technical leadership in the implementation of a people-centered approach to strengthening the supply chain for family planning commodities by improving data visibility and building the capacity of the health workforce. Miranda is also an active leader of the IAPHL Nigeria Chapter.

Dr. Faramand brings more than 35 years of experience to the development sector. She is an outstanding mentor, entrepreneur and creative innovator who started her career as a service provider and then assumed senior leadership position as a direct USAID staff, Chief of Party, Director of Global USAID project, Senior Vice President and now runs her global development company, WI-HER, LLC.
Yasmin Chandani | inSupply Health
Yasmin is the CEO of inSupply Health, an East African health advisory firm. She has spent over 25 years supporting national governments, NGOs, and multilateral partners in the strategy, design, and implementation of strong, sustainable supply chains for health. She has worked in 15 countries and served as a director of multi-country initiatives, leading teams to develop pioneering solutions for a range of health programs including family planning, community health, and immunization.

Tiffany Marshall-Cummins | USAID
Tiffany is a Global Health professional with over six years of experience in program management, country backstopping, advocacy outreach, procurement and supply chain management, as well as a technical resource for Family Planning programming in West Africa, DRC, and Burundi Missions. She is an Analyst II and the West Africa Country Team Lead in the Division of Commodity Security & Logistics, within the Office of Population and Reproductive Health at USAID.
Kelly Hamblin | Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation
Kelly is an international development professional with 13 years of experience in global health supply chains and health system strengthening. She is skilled at linking technical supply chain knowledge to the larger development environment and connecting host governments, development partners, and the private sector for a complete picture of supply chain capacity. She is currently a Senior Program Officer at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
Following this webinar, IAPHL members will be invited to join us for a virtual skills building workshop to further discuss the foundational elements and application of GESI tools for advancing health supply chains. The workshop is 6 hours total, equally spread over three sessions over three weeks. The workshop will begin on Thursday, 29 September, 2022 with a session on the Foundations of GESI, and following sessions will be held 6 October, GESI integration, and 13 October, GESI mainstreaming, all at 8AM ET.
There are only 20 slots for participation, so all those who are interested are encouraged to apply by 20 September using this application form. Participants will be selected based on their commitment to complete the three modules as well as their drive to apply skills learned to supply chains. Successful applicants will be notified through email by latest 23 September 2022. Participants will receive a certificate for the workshop upon successful completion of all three sessions.
