For people who got chickenpox at a young age, are these people at high risk of getting herpes zoster when they become older?
Yes, old age (>50 years) and also immunosuppression are risk factors for herpes zoster. It is the same virus (Varicella zoster) which causes chicken pox that later becomes reactivated as herpes zoster following recovery from the initial infection (chicken pox), when the virus had remained dormant in the body nerves for a long period.
If someone has Zoster Herpes pain that has continued for more than one year, can they take the flu vaccine or not?
