Happy new year from the EYE Strategy!

Dear partners and colleagues,

We hope you have had a peaceful holiday season, and a great start to 2024.

As another year of the EYE Strategy comes to a close, we want to celebrate the momentous 2023 achievement of 248 million people in Africa being vaccinated for life against yellow fever via campaigns*. Additional news on immunization milestones and other key successes will be published in our annual highlights in the coming weeks.

We are now in the final years of the EYE Strategy, which aims to protect almost 1 billion people from yellow fever by 2026**, and eliminate these deadly epidemics. In this phase of the Strategy, there is an accelerated focus on reaching our milestones and preparing for the transition out of the EYE Strategy post-2026.

As partners, we all have a role to play in achieving our goals, and we look forward to closer collaboration with you in 2024. With that in mind, please hold the 19th to 21st March 2024 in your diaries for our 7th Annual Partners' Meeting. More details to follow.

I am pleased to announce that we begin the new year with an expanded team. Please see below for names and areas of responsibility.

On behalf of my colleagues in the EYE Secretariat and myself, we wish you the best for the coming year,

Laurence

Together. In our lifetime. We will eliminate yellow fever epidemics.

*The current estimate of 248, 448, 430 people vaccinated includes estimates based on target population, preliminary reported numbers and admin coverage.

** This number assumes vaccinations from both routine immunization and campaigns.
